DNA Maternity Testing
DNA Maternity Testing
Similar to a DNA paternity test, but designed to determine if a woman is the biological mother of a child. DNA samples can be taken from just the alleged mother and child, or may also include the father. Our BIO SWABTM DNA Collection Kit may be used to collect samples quickly, painlessly, and in the privacy of your own home (private tests only). Upon receipt of all samples, results will be available within 5-7 business days, showing either a 0.00% or >99.9% probability of maternity.
Siblingship DNA Testing
Siblingship DNA Testing is used to determine if two or more individuals biologically share one or both parents. There are two types of DNA siblingship tests for which samples can be tested: Full-Siblingship DNA Test Half-Siblingship DNA Test. Full-Siblingship DNA testing involves two or more individuals potentially born of the same biological parents. Full siblings have 50% of their DNA in common.
Grandparent DNA Testing
Grandparent DNA Testing is designed to establish a biological relationship between an individual and his/her alleged grandparent(s). This may be especially helpful when the alleged father of a child is not available for paternity testing.
Twin Zygosity DNA Testing
Twin Zygosity DNA Testing
Twin siblings can be either 'fraternal' or 'identical'. Our Twin Zygosity DNA Test is designed to determine if twins are fraternal or identical. Identical twins occur when a single egg is fertilized with a single sperm and splits very early during development. Each division contains the exact same genetic potential. The DNA profiles for identical twins will be identical.
Y chromosome Test
Y-STR, or Y Chromosome Short Tandem Repeats, is another testing method we offer. Y-STRs are found only on the male- specific, Y chromosome. This Y chromosome is inherited through the paternal line and is relatively unchanged through many generations. By examining specific locations on the Y chromosome, we can generate a Y-STR profile for each male tested.
